Nothing in this article says anything about why women women respond the way they do, nor does it cost in any way that women are obliged to act in any particular way. The article is only about how men compare "no" versus "I have a boyfriend," and nothing else.

Obviously women are doing what they can to protect their safety, and the burden is on men to learn how to not make violence a part of their behavior.
