I think I can see your point that it was meant to be kind of funny, and as such, shouldn't be taken as a direct representation of attitudes from the time. That's an angle that's fresh to me, so thanks for bringing it up.

I think in the end it's still the a good choice to just let this song fade into history. In the end, comedic or not, it doesn't really help us move forward as a culture. But you've given me cause to be a little less harsh in judging it.
